Rev. Kimberly Secrist Ashby
The Reverend Kimberly Secrist Ashby began serving with us in August, 2011, and recently celebrated 19 years as an ordained pastor. She and her two daughters enjoy being part of the Fallston/Bel Air community! Pastor Kimberly has served as a solo pastor for many years, but has also focused on Christian Education, children’s and youth ministry, and Hispanic ministry. She speaks Spanish as her second language. Her passion is in helping each person grow in his or her faith, and empowering families to connect with God on a daily basis. Education and mission are perfect tools through which to meet these goals!
In her spare time, Pastor Kimberly enjoys gardening, cooking, baking, reading, and traveling. She also serves as part of the Center for Emotional Intelligence and Human Relations Training, which provides training for clergy and other faith-based leaders. Her educational background includes a Bachelors degree in Spanish, a Masters degree in Education, both from Vanderbilt University, and a Masters degree in Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary.
From the Pastor:
"As I serve Fallston Presbyterian Church, I want us to be real about our faith and our lives. There is a lot that happens in life that’s outside of our hopes and dreams. There is a lot that happens in life that disappoints and scares us. Still, our God is bigger than all of this, and it is God to whom we turn in good times and bad. It is God who can receive our tears and praises, our doubts and promises. It is God who loves us beyond what we can imagine.
We seek to foster a welcoming community here, a place where each of us can grow in our relationship with God and each other, a place where we can be open about our joys and sorrows. From the preschool to the seniors’ group, KIDS SOAR to the mission work at the shelter, Fallston Presbyterian seeks to serve God and others, and to involve all of us in developing our gifts so we can give them away!
The meaning at the heart of each of our lives is found in being face to face with God who loves us, and then using who we are through God to make a difference in our world. We commit to live into this each and every day.
